Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies 2023

PG-13

The Grateful Dead return to cinemas worldwide for the 2023 Meet-Up At The Movies. A year after Brent Mydland's passing, the Grateful Dead returned to the summer stadium circuit, playing Chicago's Soldier Field for the first time, with two keyboard players filling the seat Brent left vacant. Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick’s presence and musical contributions reinvigorated and revitalized the Grateful Dead, and the inspiration of the Dead's playing was palpable. On a Saturday night in front of 60,000 fans, the Dead played what is often considered one of the greatest shows of the Bruce-Vince era, up there with the second Giants Stadium show from a few days earlier. The Soldier field show was filled with favorites, including “Shakedown Street,”“Brown-Eyed Women,” “Playing In The Band,” “Terrapin Station,” and “Dark Star.” From the original six-camera video feed that appeared on the stadium's big screens and the pristine soundboard audio, Chicago 6/22/91 is an incredible performance start-to-finish.

See the hilarious, award-winning, one-woman show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, broadcast live to cinemas from London’s West End. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and directed by Vicky Jones, this 67 minute play is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose. Playing to sold-out audiences in New York and London, don’t miss your chance to see this ‘legitimately hilarious show’ (New Yorker), broadcast live to a cinema near you.

In celebration of Pride 2022, an icon of queer cinema returns to the big screen. Resplendent in flamboyant ball gowns, looking down over the vast red Australian desert: for three showgirls (Terence Stamp, Hugo Weaving, and Guy Pearce) it was the dream of a lifetime, a four week cabaret engagement in Alice Springs. The problem is simply getting there intact, along with their battered, pink tour bus, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. It’s not easy being a drag queen in the outback! With over-the-top, Academy Award-winning costume design and a fabulous soundtrack of camp classics including Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and ABBA’s “Mamma Mia,” THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT is a hilarious, vivacious comedy that celebrates community.
